Responsive video accompaniment for Matt Haimovitz and Du Yun on the Figment Tour.

A CCTV camera trained on Matt's cello drives a responsive video projection on stage. Matt's movements leave traces and reveal figments of thematic source imagery. The video is projected on a vertical-aspect screen suspended above and to the side of the performers on stage. The screen is custom-fabricated and consists of many layers of fabric to create an ephemeral effect and the effect of depth. A visual performer plays the piece along with the performance, adding and subtracting elements and tuning the video to the music.
