Gemini II

Gemini II is a dance performance with responsive visuals and sound choreographed by Soo Yeon Cho.

Twin dancers born in a state of total connection are separated by their dreams of the stars. The dancers realize themselves as individuals in a journey through memories, dreams and the cosmos before finally reuniting. Throughout the piece, a responsive particle system acts as a 3rd dancer, signifying the cosmos and the nascent identity of the dancer. The performers dance within an enclosure of scrim on which the particles, videos and lighting effects are projected, creating the feeling that the dancers are immersed in a vast space of light. Responsive sound driven by contact microphones on stage passively accent the performance.
